I work in a homeless shelter.. I’m a mental health worker… and when I come home my family watches shows like “Man vs. Food.” Where people have a contest to see who can eat the most food. I think its fucking pathetic that people are starving in our city, and there are shows based on mass consumption of food for cheap entertainment. It just shows that a country that is blessed with so much resources.. has no idea where to put them. I know it may seem kind of simple.. but I come out with a bowl of chocolate bars or bread with peanut butter and starving people swarm me.. because they have nothing to eat. Yet we make shows about food being shoved into mouths for a contest? I am just so confused right now.. i’m sorry.
